If these guys can get signed by a record label...

OK folks. I'm probably gonna take some heat for posting this, but this is just too funny. I realize it's not very nice to make fun of people, but I've got half a sense of humor and I can't help myself on this one. Liane found this on YouTube. Don't ask me how. So the clips are of a Turkish group from Germany called "Grup Tekkan". Somehow they must have got a record label executive drunk and he signed them to a contract. The first clip is them performing their hit single "Wo bist du, mein Sonnenlicht" (Where are you my sunlight?). The second clip is a recap of the music video, and then a spoof of the song done by TVTotal ( a German late night show kinda thing). They have quite possibly the worst pitch I have ever heard. Now this in and of itself is not a bad thing. Not everyone is made to sing. But making a record?? That would be like me publishing a book about breastfeeding...it's something I just will never be able to do! Apparently the lyrics are really poorly written too, but it's in German, so it doesn't much matter to me. And again, I apologize, but I bet you can't make it to the end of the spoof without a good laugh!

OK Already...

Man, you blog readers sure aren't very patient, eh? ;) Maybe I don't need to post this at all now, 'cause it's almost a week old! Last weekend was full. Real full. But a really good time for sure.

Friday evening Heinrich & Irene & co. came over for supper. Liane made some really good pizza. We played Settlers of Catan. I can't remember who won. Had a great evening with them though.

After H&I left, we went to pick up a couple of girls for the weekend. Our church was hosting a quiz meet, and these girls were from the Dryden team.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early. Dropped the girls off at the church and went home to clean up. Went back to the church for a while to watch some quizzing. Impressive.

Saturday evening we went back to the church again. We watched the awards ceremony, and Dustin's band led an evening of praise & worship. Sounded pretty good.

In the afternoon, Liane was busy getting stuff ready for the "International Meal" we were having at church. The people in charge of it did an amazing job, and hopefully we can do it again sometime.

So really, that's about it. From the sound of the comments left on the last post, people were expecting some exciting news or something. Sorry. I've just been to busy to get this one done.

Anywhoos, hope you all have a wonderful day.

Glory Baby - Watermark

Stacey sent us an email with lyrics to a song and it brought tears to my eyes! The lyrics of the song echo the thoughts of my heart!
So I thought I would post them for everyone who has gone through something like that in hopes that it will encourage you!

- Liane

Glory baby you slipped away as fast as we could say baby…baby..

You were growing, what happened dear?
You disappeared on us baby…baby..
Heaven will hold you before we do
Heaven will keep you safe until we’re home with you…
Until we’re home with you…

Miss you everyday
Miss you in every way
But we know there’s a day when we will hold you
We will hold you
You’ll kiss our tears away
When we’re home to stay
Can’t wait for the day when we will see you
We will see you
But baby let sweet Jesus hold you
‘till mom and dad can hold you…
You’ll just have heaven before we do
You’ll just have heaven before we do

Sweet little babies, it’s hard to
understand it ‘cause we’re hurting

We are hurting

But there is healing
And we know we’re stronger people through the growing
And in knowing-
That all things work together for our good
And God works His purposes just like He said He would…
Just like He said He would…

BRIDGE:
I can’t imagine heaven’s lullabies
and what they must sound like
But I will rest in knowing, heaven is your home
And it’s all you’ll ever know…all you’ll ever know…
